Strada runs one of the largest weekly meets in the GTA and have grown significantly since their first event in 2015. The following are a selection from a few nights ago, where several high profile clubs and their members came out to play. 2014-2015 was a mess with several meets getting shut down and disbanded by the authorities, and organizers for Strada have “teamed up” with YRP to keep this going as long as possible.

Given that my Cars & Coffee Toronto pics still aren’t up yet, I guess these won’t be on Flickr anytime soon but here’s the album link for whenever everything gets posted.

Arrival at the main grounds, Strada as hosted by Le Jardin. Sun is setting and the lot is fully packed as always, with a 30-60 minute queue just to get in. Yes, that is the Ontario Mustang Group all parked up nice and neat - AFAIK nobody got run over at the end of the night, so that’s good.

The first time I’ve seen an SLR in person, and at this event there were two of them. This second roadster is none other than a FAB Design car, 1 of 2 in the world and the only one in North America. Don’t know where exactly it came from, but it was wearing Nevada plates.

Also here’s a legit R34 GTR. It’s been spotted a couple of times around Toronto already so clearly the owner isn’t afraid of dailying the thing. The other infamous “GTR” that’s been running around the GTA is actually a GTT with the body panels swapped, ICYMI.

How come I never hear of these until after the fact...

How was the crowd (onlookers, not the owners)?

Haha Strada does most of their promo through Instagram

From what I recall, the crowd does come off as much younger and the scene feels more like a party than a car meet, especially with the live DJ blasting music and the guys with audio systems in their cars blasting back at the far end of the lot. As you can imagine, 90% of the cars that attend cost less than six figures and the ones that do stand out imho are tastefully modded. Unless any exotics show up, it’s really just a weekly meet for people to come and hang out - maybe do the occassional promo work.

The smart move if you do attend is to leave by 9PM (gates open at 6:30) because when it gets completely dark, the entire lot is gridlocked with people and it’s impossible to get in or out unless you plan to sit there for half an hour, minumum. Top tip: unless you really want to pay $10 to get in, then park your car in a nearby lot and just walk over.

If you’re interested, CSCS is starting this weekend at CTMP. TorontoCarSpotting x GhostsRacing is having their postponed season opener on May 15. Project7Canada is also having their charity car show on May 28.

Right, I am recently back in Toronto, and I have never heard of any of these.

Man, I will have to get out to a few of these this summer.

Very glad you didn’t resort to using a flash! The sensors on cameras these days, paired with a fast lens, can really catch incredible images under low light.

Haha yup! There’s a lot of noise from correcting in post but eh - I’ll make do. Already had a heck of a time trying to compose against the parking lot & building lighting as well as car headlights, last thing I needed was to introduce another hot spot.

Plenty of opportunity in the summer! There are weekly meets pretty much all around the city and there’s almost always something for you.

Cars & Coffee on the 1st sunday of every month is a must tho.
